In march 1974, after many years of experience in the leather stitching industry, Orlando Leone, who was crowned with the Italian title as honorary “knight”, founded the LEONE SPORT factory for sporting goods in Milan. With his passion for soccer and especially for boxing, Orlando Leone was drawn to producing goods for these specific sports. Under the label “Parola”, products such as soccer balls and soccer shoes were brought on the market. Inter, Mailand and Juventus were among the important soccer teams who used the famous leather, 18-screens-colored soccer ball. Players such as Antognoni, Angelillo and Scirea were the first who played in Leone soccer shoes. As the concern begins taking a market-leading position, every Italian boxer in the era was wearing Leone boxing gloves. From this stage on, Leone was seen in the boxing rings in all of Italy and has used its productive experience to provide to other sports such as thai-, kickboxing and savate, which came to Europe from overseas. During the past years, Leone Sport has expanded its market to Switzerland, France, Portugal, Spain and Brazil. The company has now been passed into the third Leone family generation and will proceed along the path of constant production improvement and development.
